Justin's December 2007 Trip to
Puerto Plata
Dominican Republic... With pictures!

You can keep working, hoping to one day
do what you want or just make it happen and go now.
Sometimes you have to just go and start living.

Live to make memories, not just make
money to buy or pay for more stuff.

This was how close the beach with warm water was. It wasn't very crowded at this time of year and had something fun you could do even if testing out the lounge chairs under the sun by the pool... with waiters offering free drinks.... a burger basket delivered... and please no tipping...

I like the all inclusive packages as you don't need to bring out your wallet at all, they ask, you say.. well, maybe one more.

Why we picked this Dominican Republic location:
It is a Caribbean best buy for the money. Go to one of my favorite secret sources:
Go to www.cheapcaribbean.com and get on their email list for unbelievable bargains.

When it's winter back home you can be here by the afternoon. Do you want to swim? Suntan? Read a book? See how many free drinks you can consume?

We bought their more unique timeshare offer and were invited to go from the regular resort to the VIP villas. That why I like timeshares. Bargain as best you can then be happy with it. You get access to much nicer everything and treated like royalty.

You now get to wear a gold sparkle wristband and the timeshare hawkers leave you alone. Instead of beach chairs you get beach beds in the VIP section.

You can almost hear the waves...

This was right outside our balcony...

Would you like a drink or something to eat... all included.
And they deliver to your beach bed with no tipping.

These are some of their beach swings.
When you are a VIP timeshare owner you get to use wonderful things.

Our villa
Normally over $1000 a day. email me at juswiz@hotmail.com and I can show you how to stay at a wonderful place like this for 75% off - under $249 a day - holds up to 10-12 people. ($20 a person per day- cheap for your next family reunion). It comes with maid, breakfast cook, pool and yard guy, rides to the restaurant and more.

A hammock in the backyard of our villa

A custom breakfast is made in your villa and is included.
You tell them what you want to eat and what time and there it is.

Our Villa private pool

We went on some excursions:

This was to Paradise Island for snorkeling and rum and cokes

The local butterflies are pretty!

At Oceanworld you can get this close to the exotic birds

If you like to look at big kitties they have those too.

Iguanas can be fun

Need some more jewelry? What a coincidence
we had to make some bus stops where they were selling it.

With a name like that you wonder what it's made of?

Get some fresh local fruit at low prices

You've seen poinsettias at Christmas -
here a house had some six foot tall plants happily growing.

Time to leave for the airport VIP style. Take your pick how you want to go:

Limo or...

Not much beats a private helicopter to the airport.
The pilot told us about the sights as we flew down the shoreline.

Once you make it to the airport you wonder why you really have to go back home.
Would you be Ok hanging out here all winter, every winter?
We're thinking about it.
