INCOMING TRADING POWER QUESTIONS

Hi, we are about to purchase a timeshare and getting tons of conflicting info. Where can we get the best info, the straight deal? Your web page was terrific, and most helpful. We live in the U.S. and want to take family vacations most years with the option of trading here and there for a European or exotic destination, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg buying a timeshare if we can avoid it.
We're unclear about the importance of "trade-worthiness" of a unit...we were under the assumption that all we did was to call and bank our week and just pick a different destination that is open...Would we have a problem or penalty if the company (such as RCI) cannot fill our week at our unit, would they not let us trade/bank and go to another destination? That is a question we can't seem to get an answer to. We had been looking to buy in Orlando since Disney is there, but we were told not to because it's overbuilt and the units would never fill, we are still unclear as to why that's an issue for us. We do see that there is a price issue, however, and your web page helped us to see that maybe it makes more sense to purchase a low price unit elsewhere -- but please help us understand the 'trade value' concept.

Thanks,

Greeting,

Thank you for writing. Here are some answers to your questions.

I love to travel and want to get the best deal I can get. My handpicked South Africa timeshares still amaze me with their superb trading power. Trading power is important. Many of the low cost, desperate-to-sell resale timeshares may have serious trading problems or really high yearly maintenance fees. They aren't a good buy and would only get a trade into a leaser desirable resort if any at all. You want to be able to check into the best Gold Crown resorts all over the world.

My SA timeshares trade so well you don't need to buy an expensive Gold Crown (top of the line) to trade into one.

You can make a reservation request for several resorts at the same time. Once you get that exciting call "Your reservation is being confirmed" then you cancel the other searches. You are not penalized for having several searches, dates or locations going.

I have talked to hundreds of people on what works and what doesn't. I do not recommend buying in Florida. It is flooded with timeshares. With that much competition they don't have much trading power. 500 people may want to go there, 8000 who own there want to trade to somewhere else. Too much unwanted inventory. RCI doesn't need any more units there so requests just sits for a long time.

I would recommend getting an excellent South Africa and trade into the best they have in Orlando. They have some gorgeous places you can stay there.

You can buy a one bedroom timeshare in Florida for $8500 - $22,500 but you may find my $3395 TWO bedroom timeshares trade better and faster. I have many people (former total skeptics) just tickled with the places they have gotten into.

Total cost $3395 + $225 closing costs + 115 one year RCI membership. (you will be billed for the first year maintenance fee (about $300) in 30-60 days directly to the resort) You will be able to start making reservation in about 60 days from now.

Let me know if I can help. You can call if you like for more insiders timeshare secrets or leave your number and the best time to call and I can call you.

Timeshares are wonderful as you can now stay in fully furnished 2 bedroom exclusive luxury condo suites at under $60 a night. Many people are now going on the best vacations of their life.

HERE ARE SOME MORE COMMON
TIMESHARE QUESTION AND ANSWERS on TRADING POWER:
No resort will say it doesn't have strong trading power. They all lie and exaggerate. Most claim to be the very best but aren't. The proof is in actual experience - how does it trade.

RCI does have a trading power rating scale. Hawaii trades better than Bass Lake, CA or Booneville, SC. It depends on how many want to go to a place, the ease of getting there and how many people have heard of it. The more international the better. Also how much competition in an area. They only resort around or hundreds like in Orlando? The more exclusive the better.

When RCI takes in your timeshare week it is given a rating such as 852. Let's say you want to reserve into a location, another person with a higher starting rating will get preference in reserving that spot. If you have the highest numbers you get it.

Hawaii is a red high season all the time and is the number one RCI trading location. The number two best trading location may be a surprise to you - it's South Africa as it is temperate, warm, no hurricanes and popular all the time. Palm Springs, Ca is good in winter and terribly hot, low value May-Sept.

One timeshare doesn't just trade for any other timeshare. Some people luck out, make reservations way ahead or get a last minute cancellation but if they don't have a very popular resort to trade the reservation just sits till you request a plainer, not so good resort.

Location makes a big difference. How many people have heard of it? Does the whole state want it or the whole world?

Many people buy a timeshare in an expensive location and pay dearly for it every year. The secret is to buy in a popular trading location with more buying power and trade into more expensive areas.

Also a 2 bedroom trades better -if you don't need a two bedroom you can trade into a fancier one bedroom easier. These are just some secrets I have learned in the past. If you buy a timeshare from me I let you know many more ideas for getting the best room in the best resort.

If you have an obscure place in Florida it doesn't have a very high rating, perhaps 375. You could exchange into an obscure place in Alabama pretty easily. This is why these places sell for so cheap. People get tired of trying for months to get a reservation confirmation into a spectacular Gold Crown resort and never get it. So they settle for non impressive just OK places. They don't know how good it can get.

I love the Gold Crown Resorts with the fancy pools, restaurants, amenities, and activities. I get them almost every time trading my South Africa resorts. My customers confirm this is true from their own experiences.

Where is the best timeshare location hand picked by a travel fanatic?
South Africa is exceptional. If any other place was better I would have that location listed here. The exchange rate in SA is ridiculously low for great shopping, no wild weather and they have direct flight from every European country daily. Easy access and warm, fun resorts offer high appeal. Compare that with a resort stuck out by itself in the wilds of Georgia.

I have never had an unhappy customer with my timeshares for sale. I get many offers from people to sell their dud timeshares. Why offer their $16,000 lousy one bedroom fixed week timeshare for $12,000 when my $3000 one are so much better. I am picky. These are the ones I use personally use and own four of. They are wonderful. I really love my vacations now.

There is no perfect time to buy a timeshare, you just have to jump in and do it. I love to see people have the best vacations of their life. I love the happy letters and postcards I get. Just knowing that you will be staying in some of the nicest resorts of your life is thrilling.

Once you buy one of my timeshares you own it, it's not a lease, you can use it for the rest of your life. You can will it to your next of kin.

My SA resorts have excellent trading power and the lowest yearly fees.

You purchase your SA timeshare, deposit your week with RCI, then go through
their wonderful color catalog of 3000 resorts and make your reservation request. Easy!
