I found that 82% of all people that own timeshares will NEVER go to their home resort, they will trade it. The most important thing then becomes the maintenance fees or how much it actually costs you year after year to go on vacation. That is what makes the South Africa timeshares so wonderful for Americans to own. They trade better than timeshares here in the states. With USA maintenance fees of $400-$700 average they are a far better value that the ones here in the states! Add that to buy a good resale timeshare here in the states, it costs around $8,000 compared to around $3500 for a South African one!
