Some manufacturers poo-poo these features because their machines don't have them:

* Having a portable machine is very handy - take it to the office or in the living room while you watch TV then back in the bedroom before you go to sleep. Who wants to try and find plugs behind the bed, couch and desk? Have allergies? You can take it on a camping trip if you want. If it's handy you will use it more.
